パリにあるあまたのカフェ。LeDôme、Chat Noir、Deux Magots、La Coupole、Le Flore…。それらの音を重ね合わせると、様々な顔が浮かび上がってくる。ロートレック、モジリアニ、フジタ、サルトル、ブルトン、マルローなどの顔が。放浪する魂は、同類を引き寄せる。カフェに集まる様々な相貌。沸き立つ叫びと囁き。一瞬の閃きを捉え、考えをより深め、そして何よりも他人を見出す場所。まさにカフェは、人間を熟成させる場所だったのです。そうした時を経て、30年代に「嘔吐」が、40年代に入り「異邦人」がGallimardから放たれ、これらの作品は世界のシステムに対して‘Non’を投げつけることになります。
2010年2月8日にオープンしたBibliothèqueも、オーナーのそんな思いで作られました。志はあくまで高く。書籍主体（蔵書約6,000冊）のカフェの誕生です。オープン以来、様々な方に訪れていただきました。インスピレーションを得るために、デザインの資料探しに、言葉を求めに、そして一人で在るために。決して広い空間ではありません。けれどもこの空間の中に、充ちた世界を閉じ込めました。

このスペースは、1975年に創立したデザイン事務所：株式会社スーパースタジオが長年にわたり蒐集した蔵書を一般の方々に開放し、自由に閲覧していただくために開設しました。
名前は Bibliothèque（ビブリオテック：図書室）。
40年の歳月にわたり蒐集した蔵書を皆様に開放いたします。
日本伝統文化、写真、デザイン、美術、なつかしの映画パンフレットから料理本など。
また、80年代Vogue ParisやElleなどのファッション雑誌。
今では手に入らない絶版本などを揃えてお待ちしております。
Bibliothèqueは、くつろぎの場、アイデア・発想の閃きの場として皆様に、あなただけの書斎を提供いたします。

There are numerous cafés in Paris, such as Le Dôme, Chat Noir, Deux Magots, La Coupole, Le Flore.... As a bunch of them are named, portraits come up to mind one after another, and yet another: Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani, Fujita, Sartre, Breton, Malraux, and so on. As roaming around, a spirit drew fellow beings. A number of faces flocked to a café, with crying and whispering, where they captured a flash of inspiration and thought in depth, and, above all, encountered others. A café was a spot that allowed souls to mature. In the meantime, "Nausea" and "The Outsider" were launched by Gallimard in the 1930s and 40’s, respectively, to vote "No" against the existing system of the World.
The Bibliothèque was established as inspired by such good old cafés, yet with high aspiration. It’s the birth of a café featuring a library of 6,000 volumes. Since its opening on February 8, 2010, the Bibliothèque has attracted lots of visitors who explored references or phrases, and who wanted to enjoy solitude. It may not be ample in dimensions, but does provide pregnant, concentrated spaces.

The Bibliothèque wants to be a window into the world. With our guests, we will walk on our way toward the Micro’s Macro (i.e. macro cosmos in micro cosmos). We love having you here!
The Bibliothèque was launched to offer public access to the book collection that Super Studio Inc., a design firm founded in 1975, accumulated over the years. The French word "Bibliothèque" refers to "library" in English. The collection comprises photo albums by Bruce Weber, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn and Herb Ritts, artbooks by Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, and fashion magazines of 1970s and 80’s such as Vogue and Elle, as well as books of Japanese cultures such as Kabuki, ceramic art, and Ukiyoe, and well as books on film and cooking, including the first published editions and out-of-print books that are no longer available elsewhere.
